The famous music director duo ‘Vishal & Shekhar’ namely Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani are the present superstars of Music industry who have multiplied their fan-base exponentially with their re- cent movie music albums of ‘Happy New Year’ and ‘Bang Bang’.
Vishal and Shekhar rose to fame with their composition for the film ‘Jhankaar Beats’ which included the famous song ‘Tu Ashiqui Hai’; for which they received a Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent. After this, they have composed blockbuster music for many movies like, Om Shanti Om, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Dostana, Anjaana Anjaani, Tees Maar Khan, Ra.One, The Dirty Picture and many more.
Vishal and Shekhar are truly the shining stars of our music industry who always come up with new sounds and music that would remain imprinted through the hearts of millions.
Both, Vishal and Shekhar have been constantly innovating & redefining the bollywood film music sce- nario in India. ‘Right Here Right Now – Ek Main aur Ek Tu Hain’ from Bluffmaster was the very first Hip-Hop song. They also started the trend of sampling classics to make updated versions such as ‘Bachna e Haseeno’, Disco Deewane’.
The movie Bang Bang’s song ‘Tu Meri’ composed by Vishal and Shekhar is the first ever EDM (Elec- tronic Dance Music) track composed for a Bollywood movie in India. The title song of Bang Bang is a ‘Nu-disco’ genre that has been explored by Vishal & Shekhar in the bollywood mainstream music.
All their songs have been an instant smash hit among the masses as they set YouTube viewership re- cords on the first day itself. And while speaking of their other smash hit movie ‘Happy New Year’; the song ‘Indiawaale’ has been a rage and has almost become an anthem for the youth.
Be it a song like ‘Mind without Fear’ with the famous Folktronica & Pop singer Imogen Heap or mak- ing international artists like Akon sing in bollywood movies; this duo cannot be compared for their innovation and creativity and have explored talent beyond boundaries.
Vishal and Shekhar are the first ever Indian Musicians to perform live in a Digital concert which was also accessible on mobile phones. The project done in February 2011, in association with Nokia and Airtel was the first ever live music concert to be telecasted over the web, with a simulcast over the voice platform for Airtel customers in India. For the first time the composer-singer duo connected with fans on mobile from across the country and the WebCast was live worldwide via internet, simultane- ously at a particular time.
